Choosing the right deck for your boat can make a world of difference both for the look as well as the safety, comfort and durability of your working decks. If it’s a Sportfish, you can be assured of sure-footed mates chasing the screaming rod from one end of the cockpit to the other. Wet or dry, Clean Teak is naturally safe and secure, with very little chance of slipping when it counts, unlike gelcoat, or painted decks with non-skid. Non-skid is great when new, but some wear quite quickly and remains slick when wet. Teak also remains reasonably cool to the touch. Unlike other materials that can burn your feet, Teak will warm up, but hardly ever be an uncomfortable temperature. When it comes to the look of your decks, nothing shows like a new teak deck. The fit and finish of our decks will bring class and beauty to your cockpit, foredeck and companionways. The sharp contrast of 100% real wood with the gleaming shine of a freshly waxed yacht, will always be in style, like blue jeans and a white tee shirt.
If the interior needs some improvement, and you want to get rid of that musty, old carpeting throughout your cabin space, Teak and Holly/Maple is always an option and a great way to bring the beauty of wood inside. We can also install many synthetic products such as Lon-Seal, and AMTICO, which are gaining in popularity with the high-end manufacturers. Patterning much like the outdoor teak deck we will fabricate and install new wall to wall flooring of your choosing to bring class and sophistication to your interior spaces. A few throw rugs properly placed, and you have a work of art inside as well.
Steps are a beautiful way to accentuate a passage up to the flybridge, or into your salon. We can fabricate beautiful bullnose treads that overhang each step, to create a solid step that will last as long as your deck. You may also choose to have simple treads that cover most of your tread area. Designed with your thoughts in mind we can make those steps functional, safe and beautiful.
If adding teak trim to your vessel is what you want, we have the ability to dress up an otherwise plain white surface with teak to accentuate the beauty of the lines of the boat. Cap rails, toe rails, a slight brow trim along the fly bridge are just some of the options you may want to explore.
Mezzanine decks are a terrific way to create an elevated surface in either a cockpit or Portuguese bridge. These will almost certainly add much-needed storage such as refrigeration, lives wells, and even access to engine spaces while adding a beautiful second level to your area. Finishing it off with a teak deck, with curved bullnose edges will most certainly make you the envy of your neighboring yachtsmen.
Many vessels come from the factory with simple fiberglass swimplatforms. Whether it is solid or slotted, we can add new life to that platform. Teak is especially safer than fiberglass when wet, so adding safety when swimming and exiting the water is always top priority.
